As always, each senshi maintains their musical genre as their "power." You can take all aspects of this genre and apply it to his or her powers, such as Sailor J-Pop could possibly use nail art. Senshi control both their genres and these realms of influence that YOU can pick for her genre. We will check for relevance, as Sailor Rap should not have candy added into her powers in any way.
Senshi do not have a specified power(s) to go with their genre. There is no defined powers for each senshi. Do not try even looking for one, because PC does not have any!The genre is simply the senshi's sole "power," which includes all aspects of it. Unlike deities from mythology, there is no Sailor Poseidon, senshi of the sea. Each senshi’s genre is their own power, including all the little tidbits their genre stands for. Obviously, a Sailor Acid Jazz will not have fire as part of their attacks or Sailor Classical with neon lights. It just does not apply to their genre at all. So, please research your genre to find some interesting things to add to your character’s persona and attacks from it!
Much like we can pinpoint why Hino Rei is the ideal, fiery Sailor Mars, this should be done with the senshi of PC. It is not that your senshi should be completely relevant to his or her genre, but it should play a part. Remember, your character was chosen to represent this genre as a senshi so some sort of relevance is ideal. If your application lacks any sort of relevance and we cannot decipher why your character has this genre, then we will automatically suggest for you to revise your application.
Female senshi have 2 starting attacks while the males have 1. One of the starting attacks must begin with the senshi’s genre name such as “Jungle’s Veil of the Leopard!” for Sailor Jungle, which has an aspect of her genre’s in her attack. (Leopard print)
Despite the fact that most starting attacks never have lengthy names, there are always exceptions. We do not look at the length of attack names generally, but rather focus on if the attack name makes sense or not and what sort of effect it has. Try to think outside of the box, not all attacks should be offensive or just deal damage!
The thesaurus is a great tool to use when trying to think up attack names. You can find so many exotic words for overused words such as “darkness” that it is ridiculous. I mean. How cool would it be to have an attack name called “Blackout” or “Nightfall?” Make use of sites such as Thesaurus.com and your own thesaurus at home, we can really tell who has taken the effort to make some snazzy attack names and who has not.
Senshi are not X-Men characters! Their skills are not used outside of senshi form. Sailor Jungle cannot become invisible whenever she wants nor can Sailor Scene paint the town with checkerboard! Sure, they have parts of their personality that can be related to their genre such as Ivy Rose (Sailor Jungle)’s earth and garden-loving persona and extravagant wardrobes she makes herself, some wardrobes even dotted with leopard print. But in no way will Ivy Rose be able to command plants to grow or anything obvious in that manner. Skills that seem “magical” such as being able to grow plants by command or the like have been banned from Proelium Cantus.
Just remember. Proelium Cantus has senshi. Not mutants. And that every attack or “realm of influence/power” you choose to give her must also link to her genre. You chose this genre for a reason, I am sure, use it!
