General Rules
Considered the "common sense stuff," these are the most general of rules that everyone should know and love by now: 1. Once you are accepted to Proelium Cantus, feel free to write from the range of G-rated to R. Just like real-life, the lives of these characters can have any assortment of surprises take place thus anything goes. You may have the characters do anything (huggling, kissing, foreplay, nudity) except actually having sex, although players may imply that the characters have had sex. 2. This role play game is not necessarily a PBEM though writing stories through email is enforced. Proelium Cantus allows you to create stories through chatroom conversations with other members as well as instant messenger, as we understand the rather slow speed of emails. If truly needed, we will do message board style too, but more than often new members get lost and cannot find a place to jump in if the whole game takes place on a message board. 3. Temporary absences must be announced in the proper section of the forums. If your character is currently involved in a story, we will hand them to a friend of your selection who is in the RP to continue playing for that story. If you do not ever notify us of your temporary absence, we will assume it is a permanent absence and take action, most possibly. 4. Permanent absences will be taken care of in this way: if your character has not been in a story and/or not active whatsoever, we will simply remove him/her from the game. If they have been in a few stories, we will try to edit them out, give a reason as to why they have to leave the Proelium scene (College outside of Las Vegas, moving, etcetera), or kill them off in a story. 5. Grammar is essential; at least spell check your stories and use your writing style to the best of your ability. One of the reasons we picked you for Proelium Cantus was because of your writing, so use it. ^_^ We spell check and edit stories too but we’d love our job to be lessened just a bit if you take the time to go through it as well. 6.
