From the day you send in your application, please allow 1~6 days
for the council to review your application before you bug us or go to
the forums and question the status of your application. That is why we
have a results page and a place in the forum to view the status
of your application. We will post the status for you, we do not slack
off in this department so prospective players, do not worry. Once we
receive your application in our inbox, we will post it as received on
the status page right away.
1. Poetic, flowery writing should be kept to a minimum. It is
generally gorgeous in actual roleplay, but for the application please
be brief and down-to-the-point. If you or a friend or even a current
game member cannot read your application in one sitting, it is probably
too lengthy.
2. If your application is not within the range of 8~12 pages,
it will most likely not be accepted. But if you feel you can create a
character in say, 6 pages, feel free to do so and the council will be
the judges of that. Also remember that length is not everything and if
your application reaches 16~20 pages, you know you are getting to the
point where it is too long.
3. Side notes pertaining to your character do not earn points
with us. Remember the cliché “show, don’t tell?” This applies here,
please avoid putting anything in parenthesis and simply just write it
in the application so it flows.
4. If your personality is not written in the proper format of
listing 10~15 of his or her most important traits and backing each one
up with a small paragraph, you will automatically be rejected and
forced to revise. If you cannot think of any personality traits, look
into your characters likes, dislikes and astrological sign or even
consider what your character would think of worldwide issues. This
tends to help a lot if you ask yourself questions such as: If your
character was a scent, what scent would he or she be? What is your
character’s take on the War in Iraq? Does your character prefer to
speak or listen? Even the minutest questions can add much to your
character’s personality.
5. Exciting histories score major points with us, we are sick
of rape victims, dead family members, and emo kids. Unless it is
relevant to your genre, please do not include any run-of-the-mill RP
overlaps.
6. Likes and dislikes do not need to be explained for each,
please just list these out. Usually by listing out the likes, dislikes,
and hobbies, you can tell if they are relevant or up to par with your
genre better.
7. Sweet-talking the council members does not work. We know
the fine difference between the terms flattery and complimenting,
generally doing this will not make the council members love you any
more or judge you any more kindly than we already would.
8. If your character already has some sort of relation to a
character already accepted in-game, make sure you get their consent
first. Even if both of you fill out your applications and are linked to
one another, this could be dangerous if your characters are too closely
related being one character may get accepted while the other may not.
9. So what if someone else is applying for the character you
want! Just because someone else has already applied does not mean you
cannot challenge them. Sometimes a challenge motivates prospective
players to do a better job on their applications and could be the key
to getting accepted.
10. I have seen this happen so many times in roleplays, just
because you already submitted your application that is currently under
review does not mean the senshi has been held for you. This is not a
first-come, first-serve game. If someone else submits an application
while yours is reviewed, then consider it as another applicant
challenging your application. One of you may be accepted or neither of
you; it does not matter who sends in the application first, period.
11. There is no need to rush an application. Generally,
players spend 1 to 2 weeks creating their character to his or her
fullest potential. It is unnecessary to sculpt an entire character in
one sitting and often we can tell how rushed the application was just
by reading it. Take your time!
12. By submitting an application, you are also allowing us to
post your application up for everyone else to see with our review
comments. This is not meant to embarrass players but to allow
prospective applicants to learn from your mistakes.
